AUDIO OF COMPLETE "LIFE AND LIEDER" RECITAL, FEBRUARY, 2014

Mezzo soprano Kindra Scharich and pianist George Fee are extremely committed to the cause of Lieder, one of the great treasures of classical music, and among today’s most neglected art forms. They present programs which feature  primarily the most beloved and best known Lieder, as well as programs which trace the evolution of the Lied. The latter can be presented in one concert, or over a series of concerts.
In order to aid listeners’ understanding, they provide extensive written program notes, and also enjoy sharing verbal commentary. The latter can range from very brief introductory comments to more substantial information as appropriate to the occasion, or as desired by individual presenters. They are pleased that listeners are finding their concerts stimulating and enlightening, as well as enjoyable. On some programs, they supplement their Lieder offerings with art songs of other nations.
The duo is also available for recitals in private homes, in addition to standard concert settings. The intimacy of a home environment is especially conducive to the communication of Lieder.
Ms. Scharich and Dr. Fee are eager to talk with anyone regarding possible performances. They may be contacted at www.kindrascharich.com or sdfee@cox.net. They are both affiliated with Lieder Alive!, an organization dedicated to the teaching, performance, and appreciation of German Lieder.
